Resilience – what is it?
According to Heart Math, it is the capacity to prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of stress, adversity or challenge. Not only do you have more ability to recover quickly from or bounce back after challenging situations but you have more ability to avoid getting into those situations in the first place!!! It’s like having a full cup!

The Emperor Penguin
How on earth is it possible that the Emperor Penguin is the 2nd toughest and 7th most resilient in the world?? These penguins live in the Antarctica which is known as the driest, coldest and windiest continent on the planet. It is described as a polar desert which is an incredibly unforgiving environment!! According to Esquire Magazine, “Emperor penguins will walk up to 75 miles over ice just to mate. They males sit vigil for weeks over a fertilized egg, enduring frequent blizzards and 100 mile-per-hour winds, not to mention temperatures that drop as low as -40. Meanwhile, their ladies are off hunting in below freezing waters (the water temp, generally, is just under 29 degrees), diving up to 1755 feet in search of snacks that they’ll then bring home by trudging back across that ice, through the wind and snow. Try to argue against their position now.” [Link sourced form Esquire Magazine website on November 13, 2020.]
